Hearing Aid Features

Clear sound is only half of what makes hearing aids worth wearing. The rest comes down to how easily they fit into your routine, from the way you charge them to the way they connect with the rest of your world. At HearSouth Audiology, we’ll walk you through the features that make daily life with hearing aids simpler.

Features That Fit Your Daily Life

These are the conveniences you’ll actually notice day to day, the ones that make your hearing aids feel less like devices and more like part of your routine.

Rechargeability

No more fumbling with batteries the size of a shirt button. Set your hearing aids in their charger at night, and they’re ready when you are.

Wireless & Portable Charging

Charging doesn’t have to keep you in one place. Some chargers go wireless, and others are small enough to drop in a bag, so a travel day or a long afternoon away from home never leaves you watching the battery.

Bluetooth Connectivity

Instead of leaning on the speakers across the room, your hearing aids can pull audio straight from your phone, tablet or TV. Calls, music, your favorite show, all of it routed right to your ears. We’ll get everything paired at your fitting and show you how to move between devices without a second thought.

Auracast

This one’s newer. A growing number of airports, lecture halls and waiting rooms now broadcast their audio directly to hearing aids through a technology called Auracast, so the gate change or the presentation comes through clearly, right from where you’re sitting, no straining toward a distant speaker.

IP Rating

Every hearing aid carries an IP rating, a simple measure of how well it holds up against dust and moisture. Higher number, tougher device, and around here that means sweat, humidity, and the odd afternoon downpour.

Helpful Accessories

A few extras earn their keep in the tricky moments. Set a remote microphone near a speaker at a lecture or across a noisy table and their voice comes straight to your ears; a TV streamer does the same for your television. We’ll walk you through how each one connects when the time comes.
